Inside a deckhouse on the experimental atomic and biological research ship Ben Lomond (1945) during her refit in Portsmouth Dockyard showing one of the laboratories. The work benches are fitted with numerous bunsen burners and the drawers under the benches contain sterile test tubes. On the right is a bank of steel cupboards. In the centre of the end wall is a heavily constructed cabinet with double doors and on the left is a large wooden door dogged shut. A rectangular window is in the left wall. Ventilation trunking is fitted to the deckhead. See also negative number N27019.
