A group of welding equipment on the dockside in Portsmouth Dockyard, under a corrugated iron roof. The end unit is a MVAC supply box with an Admiralty Pattern 1991 resistance box next to it. A 44 KW motor generator, yard number 1838, has 8 B.E.S.A. connections to welding resistance boxes. In front of the generator is an Admiralty Pattern 1990 resistance box and the duct to the dockside for the welder's and earth leads is in the foreground.
