The South Camber, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire
Looking south-by-west across the South Camber from a high vantage point on South Wall in Portsmouth Dockyard, showing a number of naval motor boats in the west end of the boat pond. The railway viaduct to South Railway Jetty encloses the South Camber. Portsmouth Harbour railway station and the Isle of Wight ferry coaling stage are in the background with the harbour entrance beyond. Either the Southsea (1948) or the Brading (1948) is alongside the harbour pier beyond a pair of Gosport ferries at the landing stage.
