Looking west from a crane on the south side of No. 5 Slip showing the corrugated iron roof of No. 3 Ship Shop in Portsmouth Dockyard. The roof is in a poor condition. A fleet aircraft carrier is berthed on North Slip and Middle Slip Jetties. The research ship Ben Lomond (1945) is in the middle ground. Forton Lake is in the background with Clarence Victualling Yard to the left and Priddys Hard Royal Naval Armament Depot to the right.
