The torpedo hatch of the submarine Supreme (1944) in Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire

Looking aft from the bow along the deck of the submarine Supreme (1944) in Portsmouth Dockyard. She is afloat in a dry dock and has been fitted with a heavily reinforced torpedo loading hatch. Another submarine is alongside. The Supreme and her sister Stoic (1943) were to be used in experiments to determine safe diving depths for welded and riveted boats of the S Class.
