A close view of part of the port side forward of the submarine Supreme (1944) in Portsmouth Dockyard, looking aft and to starboard from the deck of another submarine alongside. She is afloat in a dry dock and has been fitted with a heavily reinforced torpedo loading hatch. The Supreme and her sister Stoic (1943) were to be used in experiments to determine safe diving depths for welded and riveted boats of the S Class.
