Shore to Shore
This sound piece is a collaboration between the artist Güler Ates, Leyla Huysal and Yusuf Huysal, created during an 18-month residency in Ascot, Berkshire (2023-2024). It narrates and reflects the story of migration and exile from one shore to another, between the Meriç river separating Turkey from Greece. The foundation of the music is based in part on a detailed journey of a refugee family who shared their experience with the artist over seven pages of text.
