Sketches of various sailing vessels including Terre Neuvier, Saxon and Sirrah

This page of the sketchbook features four drawings of sailing vessels in pencil and pen-and-ink. A large barque-rigged vessel fills the top half of the page. Underneath is a vessel labelled ‘T.M.’ (or possibly 'T.N.'), another labelled ‘Saxon / March 1928’ and a third labelled ‘Sirrah’ or perhaps ‘Siwah’. The latter may be another view of the barque-rigged vessel depicted at the top of the page. It is possible that this ship might be the ‘Sivah’ (formerly ‘Glandinorwig’), an iron barque built by William Doxford & Sons in 1876, but this is not certain as there are differences between the ship shown in the sketches and surviving photographs of the ‘Sivah’. Bound with PAH4123-PAH4175, PAH4177-PAH4216.
