This connects to latticed covering over her cheeks, lower nose, mouth and chin, leaving. Her eyes are uncovered and, beneath the lattice, she appears to be smiling. She is wearing plain slippers on her feet. The child is on her left shoulder, half turned with its left shoulder closer to the camera. It is looking to the left of the image. She stands on floor paved with stone tiles. There is a row of a stone and a gallery with an arched roof behind her. Original caption (handwritten in white beneath): 'Egyptian Mother & Child.'
