Key To The Battle of Trafalgar
Text in English above image. This is the key to Stanfield's large painting of the Battle of Trafalgar in the United Service Club (now Institute of Directors), Pall Mall, exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1836. Sight required to confirm whether it is the one printed in time for the exhibition or relating to the subsequent engraving of the picture (see PAG7125), though probably the former since Miller's 1839 plate includes integral identification of the vessels. [PvdM 1/15].
