Forecastle of the 'Aquitania' (1914) during construction

The passenger liner 'Aquitania' (1914) under construction by John Brown & Co Ltd at Clydebank. The photograph shows the forward end of the Shelter Deck (C Deck), with the deckhouse enclosing the Third Class Entrance in the foreground.

The starboard bow of the battlecruiser HMS 'Australia' (1911) can be seen at the left edge of the image. The buildings in the distance include the clocktower of the Singer Manufacturing Co factory at Kilbowie.
