Badge: Order of the Tower and the Sword
        
        Awarded to Cdr Edward Bold. Badge: Obverse: A silver star of five points enamelled white with silver knobs on the points, the arms are joined by a wreath of oak leaves, in the centre is a gold sword enamelled blue resting on an oak wreath enamelled green, against a gilt background, surrounded by a blue enamelled band with the legend: "VALOUR DEVOTION AND MERIT" in gold. The star is surmounted by a silver castle partly enamelled blue. Reverse: Centre, on a gilt ground, a gold book, open enamelled white. On the left page the Portuguese arms and on the right the words "THE CONSTITITUTIONAL CHARTER OF MONARCHY" in Portuguese surrounded by a blue enamel band with the legend "FOR THE KING AND THE LAW"in Portuguese. Worn suspended from a blue ribbon as a medal.
