MacMillan globe
MacMillan globe. Astronomical details on the globe include a few stars and they have been annotated in pencil. The globe was most probably used to teach navigators spherical trigonometry. The sphere is made of white plastic and is housed in a wooden box with a velvet base. There are metallic accessories consisting of scales and a spherical protractor for measuring angles on the surface of a sphere.
