Punch and Judy pupper: the clergyman
A glove puppet representing a clergyman, part of a Punch and Judy set belonging to puppeteer Peter Butchard (1909-2009). The puppet has a painted wooden head with the remains of wool hair and wooden hands. The body is machine sewn and made of black wool fabric. The figure has a linen collar with an applied bow at the front in cotton tape and white cuffs. A plastic curtain ring is sewn to the back to hand the puppet up.
