Puppet octopus
A puppet octopus part of a Punch and Judy set belonging to puppeteer Peter Butchard (1909-2009). The figure is made of a ball covered with green wool which is tied to form a tuft on the top of the head. The eyes are plastic shirt buttons. The octopus has a smile emboidered in orange wool and eight plaited wool legs. It is suspended on a long string made of sewing cotton and wool.
