Musket

Flintlock Musket. The stock is possibly made of walnut and is fitted with a brass butt cap, trigger guard and three brass ramrod pipes (ramrod missing). It has a flintlock. The barrel is circular, steel and fitted with foresight. The calibre is 0.75 in. It is inscribed on the lockplate: 'TOWER Crown' over 'GR crown' over crossed sceptres. Stamped on the stock is 'CB 18'.

This is typical of the weapons used by both the British and American forces during the American War of Independence.
