Medal commemorating the Abolition of slavery
The obverse bears the image of King William IV seated beneath a canopy, attendended by advisors. It has the exergue: 'I ADVOCATE THIS BILL AS A MEASURE OF HUMANITY'. The reverse depicts seven Africans with hands linked dancing around a palm tree. It has the exergue: 'SLAVERY ABOLISHED BY GREAT BRITAIN 1834'.
