Juju pot

A pear-shaped clay jar with a slightly flared neck and rounded base. It is decorated with horizontal incised lines.

The jar was collected by Capt. Bryan Smith on 30 March 1980 from Aba River, just downstream from the bridge at the town of Azumini, Imo State, Nigeria.The item may have been associated with a shrine to an ancestor or local deity.
