Ihe
Wooden ihe (spear) from Hawaii. The spear point is carved into five wooden notches or barbs. The handle end is tapered. These spears were used as javelins and thrown at opponents. The spear was collected on Captain Cook's third voyage by William Griffin, cooper on 'HMS Resolution'.
