A pedestal writing desk in walnut with seven drawers, three on either side of the central space and one above it. A brass plate on the apron is inscribed: 'This writing table was presented to Admiral Sir Andrew Cunningham by General Dwight D. Eisenhower on setting up combined headquarters at Algiers after the successful Torch landings in November 1942.'
