A close-up view of the starboard propeller shaft of the passenger/cargo liner Arcadia (1954) while she is undergoing repairs in dry dock at Tilbury. The photographer is looking down from the top of the dock abaft the stern. The propeller has been lowered and the shaft withdrawn. A long thin steel rod suspended from chain blocks is being inserted into the empty shaft tunnel by four workmen (see negative P37863).
