Medal commemorating the capture of Porto Bello, 1739. The obverse depicts the Royal coat of arms, with 'G. R.' above. The exergue (on ribbon) reads 'EH DIEU ET MON DROIT MON.' On the reverse is a view of Porto Bello Harbour and ships. The legend reads 'PORTO . BELLO . TAKEN . BY . ADMIRAL . VERNON . WITH . SIX . MEN OF WAR ONLY . NOV : THE . 22 . ANNO DOM . 1739.' There is no line enclosing legend.
