        Medal commemorating Admiral Vernon's capture of Porto Bello, 1739, and Chagres, 1740. Obverse: Half-length figure of Admiral Edward Vernon (1684-1757) (right), baton in right hand, cuff up to the elbow; left hand extended. Fort (left), below it inscribed 'FORT CHAGRE'. Trophies (right) - a banner with St Andrew's cross, sword, battleaxe, trumpet and cannon. No line enclosing legend. Legend: 'IN MEMORY OF ADMIRAL VERNON'. Reverse: View of the port. Six ships, placed one, two, three, four sailing to right, two to left. In harbour entrance a large boat with three men and a flag. One tower and one steeple pointing at letter E and to left of W. No line enclosing legend. Legend: 'WHO TOOK PORTO BELLO WITH SIX SHIPS ONLY'. Exergue: 'NOV 22 1739'.
