A Charles II half-crown. Obverse: Bust of the king, defaced by an engraved tablet inscribed 'F.G.B. 1778.' Legend: 'CAROLVS II DEI GRATIA'. Reverse: Engraved on a smooth surface the port quarter view of a full-rigged ship under topsails and courses. Legend: 'SHIP NOTTINGHAM'.
