Medal commemorating Admiral Michel Adrianzoon de Ruyter (1607-1676). Obverse: Bust of Admiral de Ruyter with long hair in armour and order (three-quarter right). Legend: 'MICHIEL ADRIAANSZ . DE . RUYTER'. Reverse: Within a square, the date above and below, stern view of a ship under sail, on either side, inscription, in large lettering: '29 APRIL DAAR . DE . HEEREN STATEN . HUNNE VLAG . BETROUWEN . ZAL . IK . MIJN . LEVEN . WAGEN 1676 - 1926.' (Because the Government entrust their flag to me I shall stake my life.)
