Inscription: (left) 'v TIRPITZ 1915'; (right) 'GROSSADMIRAL'. Legend: 'EIN TODESPFEIL IM HERTZEN ENGLANDS IST JEDES DEUTSCHE SCHIFF . HERWEGH'. (Every German ship is an arrow of death in the heart of England). Reverse: A man on a submarine throwing a line to a boatload of men in the foreground; behind a steamer, sinking by the bows, two large rats (right). Legend: 'PAROLESCHIFF VERSENKEN - MENSCHEN RETTEN.' (Orders - Sink the ship, save the men.)
