Rectangular shaped ingot. Obverse: 'Endeavour', with sails furled, anchored off a palm fringed coast (right). Inscription: 'ENDEAVOUR'. Reverse: Inscription,'ENDEAVOUR 1768. The "Endeavour" Bark under command of James Cook, made one of history's most significant voyages of discovery and circumnavigation. The voyage lasted nearly three years during which Cook visited Tahaiti, charted the islands of New Zealand and the east coast of Australia, claiming the island continent for Great Britain.'
