Bowl

A creamware bowl, with a hand-painted interior depicting a brig under sail, inscribed: 'IOHN DAWSON', 'SUCCESS TO SHE THAT CARRIES ME EATHER (sic) BY LAND OR SEA'. It is painted in black and coloured in green, red, blue and yellow, on a green sea. The vessel wears a large red ensign, jack and red swallow-tailed pennant. Figures are shown on the deck.
