Plate
Creamware plate, transfer-printed and hand-coloured in red, blue, green and yellow. In the centre, a figure inscribed 'HOPE' is seated with her attribute, the anchor. Her dress is coloured red and a tartan pattern is scratched on the wet paint. Behind her is a rock, a tree and on the right a stern view of a ship. The border of the plate has six bird vignettes.
