Mug
Creamware cylindical mug, printed in black with a view of Greenwich Hospital from the Isle of Dogs, within a circular medallion edged with foliage, surmounted by flags and an anchor. Inscribed below: 'GREENWICH HOSPITAL/Where seaman prattle oer their former wars/And proudly shew their wooden legs and scars'. The print is based on an engraving by W. & J. Walker after F. Nicholson published by Harrison & Co 1 August 1792.
