Reinhard Woltman Type
Current Meter of the type invented by Reinhard Woltman circa 1790. The object consists of a directional vane with four fins attached to an oval framework housing a vertical rod mounting tube, horizontal pivot, pivot locking pin, and a lever for engaging and disengaging the recording mechanism. The recording mechanism consists of a framework housing a four bladed propellor on a shaft carrying a worm screw, two discs (one graduated 0-100 the other 100-1000) and a disengaging mechanism. Object is mounted on a modern wooden stand.
