Jug
Brown, salt-glazed stoneware toby jug, modelled as a half-length figure of Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805), in Rear-Admirals uniform and wearing a hat. The figure has the orders of the Bath, Crescent and St Ferdinand embroidered on his coat and wears a Naval gold medal. Two other medals are worn around his neck, one inscribed 'NILE 1798'. Nelson's pigtail forms the handle and 'LORD NELSON' is painted around the base. The surface is partly painted in black oil colour and the face in natural colours. There is no maker's mark on the base.
