Jug

Pratt ware jug moulded in relief with profiles representing Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) and Vice-Admiral Sir Thomas Masterman Hardy (1769-1839). The figure inscribed 'Admiral . Nelson' is facing left to the left of the handle. Hardy is on the other side, facing right, inscribed 'Captain . Hardy'. The figures have, brown hats, blue uniforms with yellow lace and orange order ribbons. The inscriptions are moulded on the neck and painted brown. In the background, the sea is painted green with a ship on either side of each portrait, with colours in dots on the sails. The jug has a dark brown rim inside and out and is in thick, heavy pottery crudely moulded and painted.
