Portable telescope
Achromatic telescope with a wooden barrel and brass fittings, inscribed (now indistinctly) with the maker's name and address in Albermarle Street, Piccadilly, London. It has a single draw tube and a sliding eyepiece cover. There may once have been an objective lens cap, but this is now missing. The number 'IIII' is roughly inscribed on the draw tube and on the field/erecting lens holder. These marks were presumably made during the production process.
