A chart of the seacoasts from the Landsend of England to Cape Bona Esperanca

Bound sheet. Engr. Scale: [ca. 1:18 000 000 (bar)]. Cartographic Note: North at 270 degrees. Borders graduated for latitude. Plane chart. Bar scales in English & French leagues, Dutch miles and Spanish leagues, In the belief that the length of the degree of latitude had been over-estimated, on this chart the parallels have been redrawn closer together. As a result, the 50 degree parallel moved south from Portland to Cherbourg (an over-correction). Contents Note: Shows the recommended sailing channel midway between Brasil and Cape Verde. Decorated with the coat of arms of the Royal Africa Company. The cartouche which had been blank in the 1675 state contains a dedication to the company.
A chart from The English Pilot, the Third Book, describing ... the Oriental Navigation. It is a revision of the chart published in Seller's Atlas Maritimus in 1675.
