Plaster figure group showing two beggars, one a disabled seaman

Plaster figures of two beggars, one a disabled seaman. The sailor carries a board round his neck showing a sinking ship. Both the men depicted are elderly. The seaman has one eye, a wooden leg and has a left hand missing. He has a crutch under one arm and wears a tricorn hat. His companion wears a round hat and an apron and has his hands in his pockets. They are mounted on a wooden base under a glass dome. This object is believed to have come from the family of George William Chambers, who was serving on the Franklin Expedition in HMS 'Erebus' when it was lost in the Arctic.
