Tankard

Tankard with the arms of Gough impaling Hynde. Henry Gough (1681-1751) married Elizabeth Hynde in in 1719. He had commanded the Indiaman 'Streatham' and became one of the directors of the East India Company. The tankard is Chinese export porcelain commissioned in Canton. It is decorated in polychrome enamels and gold.
