Atlas sheet from an edition of Theatrum Orbis Terrarum with Latin text, published in 1573. Hand coloured copperplate engraving. North at 270 degrees. The compass rose has 32 points labelled in Dutch. Scale approximately 1:400,000. The bar scale, drawn as if wrapped around a pair of dividers, is in small, medium and large Holland miles. The title is within a strapwork cartouche. The sea area is decorated with eleven ships and vessels.
