The admiral, eyes closed, clad in pink breeches, his hat on the deck, is supported by two naval officers in blue uniform, white breeches, hats and boots. The left-hand officer rests his hand on Nelson's shoulder, the right-hand officer lays his hand on Nelson's forehead. 'Death of Nelson' is crudely painted on the base over the glaze in green paint.
