Empire Grey (1944) under tow in the River Tyne
A port side view just forward of the broadside of the general cargo vessel 'Empire Grey' (1944). The ship is under tow in the River Tyne bound for Southend, where she arrived on 5 June eventually becoming part of Convoy ETM 6 for Gold Beach, Normandy.
The negative has a crack down the righthand edge, passing through the stern of the ship. The glass negative has not been uniformly cut, but this does not affect the image.
