Figure

White porcelain figure of a Thames waterman, standing in front of a tree stump and looking to his left with his left hand extended. He is dressed in a waterman's full-skirted coat and cap, with a large brassard on the left sleeve. Slightly later coloured versions of this figure are known and there is another white example in the British Museum.
