A distant port broadside view of the light cruiser HMS 'Cleopatra' (1915) towing the damaged Dutch general cargo steamer 'Oldambt' (1914). Aurora encountered German torpedo boat destroyers art 730am on 2 November and opened fire. Her ship's log does not mention the recapture of Oldambt.

The 'Oldambt' had been captured by German torpedo boats on 1 November 1916. She was severely damaged by bombs placed on board by the German prize crew on the arrival of British warships. The ten prize crew were captured from the ship's boats having abandoned the steamer. The British fought off five German destroyers who arrived on the scene. The 'Oldambt' was beached near the Hook of Holland. She was refloated on 9 November and arrived in Rotterdam a day later.
