A flat-backed, standing figure of a sailor with a banner decorated in overglaze enamels. It also found as the right-hand side of a group with a matching soldier on the other side. The figure is supported by a wall pierced by three gun muzzles with a pile of shot at the base. His beard, hair, neckerchief and shoes are painted black and the face in natural colours. The sailor wears a straw hat, trousers, shirt and jacket and holds the banner in his left hand.
