Toby jug
An earthenware toby jug modelled as a sailor, sitting on a chest, holding a tankard, a pipe between his knees, his mouth open as if singing. The figure is coloured in overglaze enamels and wears a red waistcoat, blue and white striped trousers, blue jacket, black neckerchief and hat. The grey chest is marked 'DOLLARS' and the tankard 'SUCCESS TO OUR WOODEN WALLS'. The iregular base is painted brown and green and the handle is formed as a tree trunk.
