Toby jug

An earthenware toby jug modelled as a sailor sitting on a chest of dollars, holding a pipe in his left hand and a mug of ale in his right. His mouth is open as if singing. The base is painted to resemble grass and earth, and the handle is formed as a tree stump. The sailor wears a blue, double-breasted jacket, white trousers with two horizontal blue stripes around the hem, black hat and neckerchief and black buckled shoes. His hair is dressed in a pigtail. 'SUCCESS TO OUR WOODEN WALLS' is inscribed on the tankard and 'DOLLARS' on both ends of the chest. The mark 'W' is impressed behind the handle.
