The stern of a Hainan C.S. stern fisher type junk at Aberdeen, Hong Kong

A close up port quarter view of the stern of a Hainan C.S. stern fisher type junk anchored at Aberdeen, Hong Kong. Fishing nets are drying at her mainmast and her perforated rudder has been raised out of the water. She has the number 8941 painted on the upper part of her transom and her port number ends 85HC. A junk berthed to starboard has the port number 1068HA on her stern. The photographer was in the area in the following periods: 6 to 28 May 1937; 14 October 1937 to 8 January 1938; 14 April to 4 June 1938 and 8 to 12 September 1938.
