A starboard bow view, taken from abreast the waist looking forward, of the Foochow pole junk (trader) 3179 anchored at Weihaiwei. Only the bow is in the picture. She has an occuli and the number 3179 painted on her hull forward. Her foresail is stowed and the top of her foremast is out of the picture. The photographer was in the area in the periods 3 June to 7 October 1937 and 8 June to 4 September 1938. Negatives numbers P34519 to P34540 are all of this vessel taken on the same occasion.
