Walking stick made from HMS Vindictive
Walking stick made from the wood of HMS 'Vindictive' 1897. A gold or brass plate on the head of the stick is inscribed: ‘VINDICTIVE OSTEND 1920’. The stick has a brass finial.
'Vindictive' played an important role in the Zeebrugge Raid on 23 April 1918. She was afterwards sunk as a blockship at Ostend during the Second Ostend Raid, 10 May 1918. In August 1920, the ship was raised and then broken up.
