Coins from SS 'Laurentic' wreck
Seven coins brought up from the wreck of 'Laurentic' 1909, sunk by mine in 1917. Four pennies dated 1917, a 1916 shilling, a 1916 sixpence and a florin. Three million pounds worth of gold was subsequently salvaged from the wreck.
