Seal cast
Cast of a personal commemorative seal, commemorating James Weddell's Antarctic voyage of 1822-24. It depicts the cutter 'Beaufoy' and brig 'Jane' amid ice floes and penguins. Inscription: 'JANE AND BEAUFOY', 'LAT.74.15 SOU.LONG.36.16W'. The cast is mounted on an emulsioned plywood backboard with a label.
